Recording
At Sessionworks Studios we offer high-resolution digital recording with unlimited tracks, using crystal-clean analog-to-digital converters from MOTU, M-Audio, and PreSonus. Also available is 16 tracks of warm, old-skool analog recording (some tape fees apply, call for information.) We keep a fine selection of workhorse condenser and dynamic microphones from AKG, Audix, Audio Technica, CAD, MXL, Oktava, Sennheiser, and Shure, as well as ribbon mics from Cascade. Our control room is outfitted with preamps from Purple Audio, Avedis, Old School Audio, hand-built Eiesen’s, Midas, and more. These preamps are comparable to the API and Neve preamps in the world’s finest studios. We also have quite a list of equipment available: Many, many guitars, including 2 Gibson Les Pauls, 4 Fender Stratocasters, Jacksons, 6 and 12-string Gibson and Yamaha acoustics, Jazz basses, and more. Guitar amps include a vintage Silvertone, 2 different Fender Twins, a custom-built Caswell (Marshall style), Kustom, and more. We have vintage Ludwig drums, maple Gretsch drums, and a huge selection of cymbals including Sabian and Zildjian A and K series. We also have a piano, 2 Hammond organs, and an upright bass, as well as LP Congas and numerous other percussion instruments. The expert staff at Sessionworks can handle any type of recording, from solo instrument and vocal production to full band and small ensemble. We have a large tracking room, and several iso booths. Mixing
Sessionworks Studios has radio quality mixing services and equipment at your disposal for a fraction of what you’d spend elsewhere. We have multiple software platforms available, including Cakewalk Sonar 8 PE, Sony Vegas, ProTools, and more, including an extensive collection of the world’s best plugins for EQ, Compression, and other processing. Our engineers have extensive expertise in mixing and can give you exactly the “sound” you seek, including optimum frequency balances, clarity, stereo spread, depth, and volume. We also offer analog mixing to ¼” 2-track tape. Call to ask about our extensive list of credits, we’ve mixed many radio hits.
Mastering
Mastering is the final phase in the album production process, where the audio is trimmed, faded, sequenced, and optimized to be as good a sound quality as possible. Many studios claim to offer mastering, but at Sessionworks we have a dedicated, calibrated post-production room and professionally trained engineers with judgment and experience, which is something you cannot get from a software program or a plug-in. We can press replication-ready masters of your project that can be sent to any CD plant in the nation, on CD-R or as a DDP file. When you master at Sessionworks, you will receive a guaranteed low-error master, a printout of the C1, C2, and jitter test, a professional PQ log of the tracks and times, as well as free iTunes/CDDB data entry. CD Text of artist name and song titles is available, as well as high-quality MP3 files. We use Wavelab, the industry standard professional mastering software, as well as an enormous list of world-class plug-ins for EQ, Compression, Noise Reduction, etc.
